BUGOMA FOREST COSERVATION
The Bugoma Central Forest Reserve conservation project will be implemented in the biodiversity hot spots of Kikube District, specifically in the sub counties of Kyangwali and Kabwoya. The project was designed by the African Agency for Integrated Development (AAID) in consultation with stakeholders and communities in Kikube District and will be supported with funding from UNDP’s Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP), running for 18 months (30th June 2024 – 30th July 2025).
The overall project goal is to promote forest conservation practices at community level targeting people living around Bugoma central Forest which is a renowned chimpanzee sanctuary while mitigating degradation of forest resources.
